Keynote Address: Every year, PAP invites a special guest of notable reputation to deliver an inspirational message that would generate enthusiasm as it sets the tone, outlines key themes, and often highlights the main objectives or ideas of the Convention.
Plenary Sessions: The Plenary Sessions gather all members and provide opportunities to
listen and interact with both international and local distinguished invited speakers on current issues and various topics concerning the practice of psychology.
General Assembly: The GA is where all members of the organization attending the conference
come together to discuss important issues. Reports, updates and accomplishments from the Executive Committee often represent the culmination of deliberations and debates on various topics. GAs are crucial for decision-making and setting the direction of the Association, ensuring that all voices are heard and decisions are made collectively.
Fellowship and Awards Night: The Fellowship and Awards Night is a fun event where participants gather and have the opportunity to network with each other and to celebrate outstanding achievements, contributions, or milestones through good food, drinks, and music. During the event, awards, honors, or fellowships are bestowed upon deserving recipients in acknowledgment of their excellence, innovation, leadership, and service. It serves as a platform to showcase and commend noteworthy accomplishments, inspire others, and foster a sense of community and camaraderie among participants.
Group Meetings: The Group Meetings of the Focus Units (Specialty Divisions and Special Interest Groups) and Geographic Chapters are smaller gatherings where individuals come together to learn about each other, get updates of groups’ accomplishments and financial standing, discuss specific issues, exchange information, set the direction and plans for the year, and collaborate on tasks.
Learning Sessions: Teaches participants specific knowledge or skills pertaining to current trends, teaching, practice and/or research and publication in psychology. Sessions are typically 90 minutes long and should be able to accommodate as many as 100 participants. For PAP x ARUPS iCon 2025, the learning sessions will feature esteemed international and local experts from various fields, sharing their insights and expertise in alignment with the conference theme, Futurescaping Psychology.
Oral presentation – refers to oral presentations of individual papers on a research study or documentation of psychological practice. Presentations will be clustered into a maximum of 4 papers per session (no more than 15 minutes per presentation) based on a common theme.
Organized symposium – refers to a set of 3 to 4 different oral presentations (no more than 15 minutes per presentation) plus a summary discussion that cluster around a common topic, issue, or subject matter with the aim of providing complementary or divergent views and perspectives. To foster inter-institutional collaboration, presenters in the symposium are encouraged to come from at least 2 different institutions. Organizers have the prerogative to select and re-organize papers submitted as a symposium should the need arise.
Poster presentation – involves the use of a visual aid to illustrate a study. Presenters are expected to interact with viewers of their posters during their assigned schedule. For PAP x ARUPS iCon 2025, this will be an E-poster type, where the study will be represented in infographics or visual graphical summary and displayed in designated visual display room in the convention venue. Organizers have the prerogative to select and re-organize papers submitted for paper presentation and accept as E-poster presentation should the need arise.
